Armosam 50 mg is an armodafinil tablet made by Jagsam Pharma, an Indian generics producer. Both carton and blister state 50 mg armodafinil per tablet, along with the brand name, manufacturer, batch number and expiry date. 50 mg and 150 mg on the label

What Jagsam Pharma prints on the carton

Everything we state about the manufacturer can be checked on the pack. Printed at the plant, the carton shows:

• Jagsam Pharma’s name, address and manufacturing licence number;
• the batch number and the date of manufacture;
• the expiry date, repeated on the blister foil;
• ‘Armosam’ and 50 mg, on carton and foil alike.

Inside the factory-sealed carton are the uncut blisters and the manufacturer’s patient information leaflet: read the leaflet first. We never decant tablets, relabel packs or cut a strip to make up a quantity.

Batch testing and the certificate

Each batch reaching our EU warehouse is sampled for independent laboratory analysis before sale, and cartons stay sealed until dispatch. The Certificate of Analysis, which you can download, identifies the active substance and confirms the declared amount per tablet. It is a reference report on the substance, not on your batch (we issue no per-batch certificates), and it describes what the tablets contain, not what taking them is like. Side effects and safety

Commonly reported: the package leaflet lists headache, nausea, dry mouth, reduced appetite, difficulty sleeping, dizziness, anxiety and nervousness.

Serious skin, allergic, psychiatric or cardiac reactions: stop taking armodafinil immediately and seek urgent medical help if you notice a skin rash, blistering, ulceration of the mouth or eyes, swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing, fever, chest pain, an irregular heartbeat, hallucinations, agitation, depression or thoughts of self-harm. A rash can be the first sign of a serious reaction, so do not wait and see. Contraindications: do not take armodafinil if you have a known hypersensitivity to modafinil or armodafinil.

Medical advice is essential before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, impaired liver or kidney function or a history of psychiatric illness. The same applies if you take any other medicines, as interactions are possible: speak to a doctor or pharmacist first. Do not combine or alternate medicines without professional advice.

Hormonal contraception: armodafinil reduces the effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives, including pills, patches, rings, implants and hormonal coils. If you rely on one of these, arrange additional or alternative contraception with a doctor or pharmacist before use, and review it with them when you stop taking armodafinil.

Leaflet and storage: read the package leaflet before anything else. Whether armodafinil is suitable for you is for a doctor or pharmacist to decide, with the leaflet and your medical history in front of them. Store the tablets in their original pack at normal room temperature, in a dry place away from direct light, and out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use them after the expiry date printed on the carton and the blister.
